東京コンセルヴァトアール尚美ディプロマ(演奏家養成課程) 　　　　　 コース・ユーフォニアム専攻修了。在学中、ソロ・リサイタル を開催。また、尚美ウィンド・アンサンブルのメンバーとして渡 米。各地の演奏会で高評を博す。これまでにユーフォニアム を本図智夫、後藤文夫、指揮を鈴木孝佳、Eric Banks、ブラ スバンド指導法をRichard Evans各氏に師事。1993年、尾 西市民オーケストラのシンガポール演奏旅行にユーフォニアム ・ソリストとして同行。1998年、取手市消防音楽隊の指導功労 から「取手市長表彰」を受ける。2001年、ジャパン・マレーシア ・フレンドシップ・ウィンドオーケストラのユーフォニアム・ソリスト としてマレーシアで演奏すると共に指揮をし高評を博した。 2012年10月第12回東日本吹奏楽大会において指揮者賞受 賞。

指揮者／ユーフォニアム奏者／作・編曲家／マーチングバンド 指導者。埼玉プレミアブラス・鉾田交響吹奏楽団音楽監督。 日本ブラスバンド指導者協会理事。同国際交流委員会副委員 長。日本ブラスバンド連盟事務局次長。現在、「BRASStribe」 (プロスコープ社)誌にて「The Brass Band Lovers」を絶賛連載中。

Makoto Sekiya is a Professional Conductor, Euphonium Player, Composer, Arranger and Tutor of Brass Band, Wind Band and Marching Band.He graduated from performing diploma of Tokyo Conservatoire SHOBI. He formal Euphonium studies under Mr. Fumio Goto and Mr. Tomoo Motozu. Conducting studies under Mr. Tad Suzuki and Mr. Eric Bnaks(OBE). Brass Band Teaching studies under Mr. Richard Evans. He had his Recital and Concert tour of USA(L.A.,S.D.,and Chicago) when he was student. In 1993, he played Euphonium Soloist with Bisai civil Orchestra concert tour of Singapole. He has received Toride Mayor Award to the coaching of Toride Fire department Band in 1998 and he gave Euphonium Soloist and Conductor of Japan-Malaysia Frendship Wind Orchestra concert tour in 2001 at Malaysia. He is also active in teaching to raise younger player when Part-time tutor of Adachi, Arakawa, Toshima, Shinjuku, Setagaya, and Edogawa ward in Tokyo. He had been Musical Director of Saitama Premier Brass and Hokota Symphonic Band. Full-time Tutor of Hanahata-Nishi Primary School. vice-Secretary of Japan Brass Band Association. Permanent director of Japan Brass Band Directors Association. The reasons why he is called "Mickey" in the forreigners, because he played trick like the "Mickey mouse", it was named by Richard Evans.
